Jayne Griffiths (Second Cornet)

Jayne picked up a cornet for the first time in the Summer of 2006 and quickly taught herself not only the technique, but also how to read music, and has come on in leaps and bounds to find herself as 2nd cornet player within the main band. Some feat it has to be said!

Jayne is employed as Academic Secretary at Ellesmere College, an 8-18 Co-educational school. Apart from serving eleven years in The Royal Navy, Jayne also served six years as a police constable with Devon & Cornwall Constabulary, before moving back to her hometown to work as a PA within a prominent solicitors firm before joining Ellesmere College. Jayne is the Main Secretary and is also in charge of uniforms at Whitchurch Band. Very apt given her past. Anyone with a spare tunic in their wardrobe, beware. Jayne is on your case!

As well as playing the cornet, Jayne's other pastimes include designing wedding stationery.

Jayne is 45 years old and has been married to Trevor for 5 years. She has three stepchildren, Jessica 17, Jack 13 and Joseph 10 and lives in Whitchurch.
